Well, things are still moving forward, despite the lack of posts

I figured I would update the blog before heading out of the country for the next week. I will be traveling to Tel Aviv for the next week to attend some meetings for work. Luckily, we will have the better part of a day to go on a tour of Jeruselem. We are staying at a hotel right on the Mediterranean and the weather is supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny every day. I will have pictures and commentary when I reutn.

But, we are moving along with the house. We have the finishing touches on the kitchen left to be made and we are waiting for our custom staircase to be completed. The company doing the stairs estimates it to be sometime around Thanksgiving they should be ready to install. In preparation of that, we are on the hook to finish the hardwood flooring throughout the rest of the house and painting. I took Thursday off to address some unlevel flooring issues. I had to rip out a huge chunk of sub-floor and then add strips of ripped-down 2x4's to the top of the joists and sand them to level. Quite a tiring day of work. The upstairs bath is roughed-in and the sheetrock and cement backer for the tile are both in as well.

I keep thinking we are right around the corner from being finished, but I have been thinking that for the past few months. Hopefully once the stairs and floors are done, it will seem much more "complete." Also, having a new finished bath upstairs will be a big relief. Hopefully we will be done in time to host some fun Christmas parties!
